Hi! My name is Sandra Smith (Sandy) and I live in Warner Robins, GA.
The photo to the left is my granddaughter Hannah helping me "look for dead folks" in Warren County, GA
Since you are here, I hope that means you plan on voting in the upcoming elections
About me: I am married with two daughters, 23 and 22 and one granddaughter, 4. I have worked for 25 years with the US Government at an Air Force Base Air Logistics Center, which is home for one of the largest Maintenance Wings in the Air Force as a Resource Advisor. I am extremely proud of the part I play for our Service men and women.
Genealogy: I have been doing genealogy for about 25 years. I absolutely love helping people find their “brick walls” and connecting family members. One of my most memorable and rewarding projects was a family in Colorado that had searched for years for his family in Georgia to no avail. I was able to connect him with numerous cousins in Georgia and Florida that they didn’t know they had. The family in CO stopped over in GA to meet me on their way to meet an aunt in Florida and I have been invited to the family reunion every year since. To me, this is what being a part of USGENWEB is all about.
USGENWEB: I’ve been a County Coordinator with USGENWEB/GAGENWEB for about three years and the East Central Georgia Regional Coordinator for almost one year.
Why: I am proud to be part of this organization and would like to see USGENWEB move forward instead of mired down in rules and more rules on top of rules. What I hope to accomplish is in-depth review/revision of the rules, bylaws, guidelines, etc concerning CC’s and standing committees to ensure the results are clear, concise, sensible and are enforced across the board. The CC’s are the backbone of this organization and I hope to bring the focus back to them and spark some interest for them again in their project.
What I promise: To be responsive to the CC/LC's of the SEMA Region; to not be part of the “status quo”; and do everything I can to make a difference in USGENWEB.
But the most important thing is VOTE! Preferably for me ;) but please vote.
Please contact me at mcduffiega@cox.net if you have questions or comments. (and no, I'm not crazy for wanting to run for office
)
